still waiting to where these ssds hit an acceptable price level

1.25$/gb is about my price point. .... but we are still at above 2$/gb.
 
Yeah and that's street prices too not MSRP. I expect when the flash process shrink settles in we'll see street prices around $1.50/GB on good drives and maybe some lower deals, I just hope people don't expect to see an instant halving of current street prices because I think they'll be disappointed. I can however unreservedly say that a good SSD is the most worthwhile upgrade I've done in the last 2-3 years, some graphics cards were great for when I went in to obsessive gaming mode, quad cores were great when batch encoding tons of media, but the SSD just affects everything in a positive manner. I only wish that 500GB++ SSDs were cheap enough for me to ditch a mechanical drive in my desktop altogether :D
