file sharing help!

file sharing help!


so i got a macbook pro lol and im trying to setup xbmc on it but i cant get it read the files through smb like i do with my other windows 7 pc's it keeps asking me for a password that does not exist!! any ideas??

If I'm not mistaken, it's trying to access the guest account, which is disabled by default.

Best bet would be to set up an account w/password strictly for the purpose of file sharing and then set access permissions in the shared folders for that account.
