Regarding a GPU to get in march.
Well, my wonderfull girlfriend saw the post and said
"Why dont I get you a graphics card for xmas"? - I love my lady.

Requirements-
Dual screen + HDMI
1920 capable
Dont wanna be able to hear the fan above all the others in my case.

Main usage -Steam games + some C&C.
Heavy photoshop use.
Light/medium Premiere use.
Im also learning sketchup (which made my system lock up the other day)

Not bothered whether ATI or nVidia, although if its any use, I do preffer red+black over green+black :D

BUDGET- FLAT LINE £150, dont suggest any more expensive please.
You will only serve to annoy me.

Usually, when I have a specific budget in mind, I just check the latest monthly THG 'best graphic card for the money' review. It's pretty dead-on, and saves me days/hours/etc of research as to what is better than what.

Here's this month's article:
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/graphics-card-geforce-radeon,2761.html

Edit: Given your budget, converted to USD, it's roughly ~$238 USD. That'd be this page of the article.

Excellent site mate!

Never even seen that before. (read reviews n stuff, but that is awesome)

CHEERS!

An ATi 5830 is just over your budget (by £3!): http://www.scan.co.uk/Shop/Computer-Hardware/All/GPU-ATI/ATI-Radeon-HD5830-PCI-E-(1120-Cores)

A good ATi 5770 ought to be well within.

On the nVidia side, a GTX460 looks ideal for your budget (as the 465 comes in at >£160).

Remember though: the ATi 6000-series cards are due out soon so it might be worthwhile holding off if you can.

Your scan link is broken Dave.
Also, what's the usual percentage of price reduction that's normally seen when a new line gets released?

That's a hard one to answer. Depends on how popular the new model is, what the card vendor sets the price point for, how much current stock the distributors and retailers have in stock, etc.

Having said all that, and depending on time, it could be in the 5% to 20% range.

Edit: But, since you're looking at the Christmas time frame (right?) then I'd go with David's suggestion and hold off a bit, if you can, for the new line coming out soon.

Ah, the auto URL formatting dropped the closing ).
http://www.scan.co.uk/Shop/Computer-Hardware/All/GPU-ATI/ATI-Radeon-HD5830-PCI-E-(1120-Cores) should work.

I don't really think anyone has quantified it in terms of percent, to be honest, but there will be some sort of drop, even if it is only 5-10%. Even a small drop would bring a 5830 into your budget range, for example. There are some rumours floating around about the 6xxx series now (http://www.eteknix.com/news/radeon-hd-6800-performance-figures-leaked-221/) but I don't know how reliable these are.
