Well i got lucky and some guy on craigslist traded me his 480 for a ps3 and 4 games. I have a 800 watt ocz Elitexstream with a 62 amp 12 volt rail and peaks @ 744 watts. My ups says i idle at 200 watts and when running metro benchmark heaven lost planet etc..... 700 watts is the most it has drawn. the cards are both clocked to 800 mhz on core with no voltage adjust. I also have my i7 down to 3.8 with stock voltage down from 4.4 with 1.4 volts. anyways alot of claims made on these cards are exaggerated these will draw a massive amount of power when you mess witht the voltage. Was the 4870x2 scrutinized like this? I really was not reading up on them when they were new, but i have owned 1 and when it wasnt under water its was hot as hell, very loud, and consumed alot of power more, i think than my gtx 480. Ive been ati since the x1950 pro, hd2900, 3870 crossfire, 3870 x2, 4870 crossfire , 4870 x2 never trying sli i decided to try nvidia this time around i think i like ati's software package better. Btw i have just purchased a new psu from newegg so i can get these both to 900 mhz core. And metro RUNS AMAZING took forever for it to even worked reinstalled metro multiple times reinstalled windows would always just crash once i hit enter to start the game dunno why buy reinstalled once more than it worked? Crysis just crashes as soon as loading bar gets to 40 works single card sli is a no go. Does crysis warhead need a patch for sli to work?
