Putting together the new computer yesterday, I realized the Rampage III is asking for 2x 8pin connectors. The PSU supplies one, and the manual isin't clear.

My goal is 4.5Ghz from an i7 950 (bloomfield) on a CoolerMaster V10.
GPU and RAM will also be turned up.

Do I really need the extra power? Thinking that this board was designed for Liquid N and other insane applications...
I'm about to break in the CPU and start playing around with things; just looking for reassurance that the board has enough power.

System:
Rampage III Extreme
Intel Core i7-950 3.06GHz
CoolerMaster V10 CPU cooler
ASUS EAH 5850 GPU
Corsair Dominator 6GB (3 x 2GB)
CoolerMaster HAF 932
Corsair TX-850 (850W)
Western Digital Black 1TB
Intel 80Gb SSD

I run the R3E and 950 with just the single 8pin connected. I also run watercooling and a 5870 with no problem at all running 4.1 24/7.:D

You don't actually need more then one 4pin, though two 4pins or an 8pin is nice.
I run both 8pins just because i can, noticed no difference at all between that and one 8pin.
