As title says. Replaced original card with another from a working laptop and still can't connect.

Installed NetStumbler and don't see the seven AP's that I know exist in my
neighborhood.

Question: should the Ohms resistance of the antenna be near zero? Does the Aspire use
a Loop antenna? or does it use a dipole? I measured the resistance of the antenna
between the two connectors of the antenna with a meter that reports measurements to 4 decimal places; the near zero resistance indicates a Loop antenna. I was under the impression that laptops used a dipole antenna.

So, I'm wondering whether the antenna is shorted in some maner because the two
different wireless cards appear to be installed properly, yet connot "see" any AP.

So, do wireless cards use dipole or loop antenna? ie, do I have an antenna "short?"

Or have both network cards failed?

This laptop has WinXP Home SP2 x64 installed and is connected via ATT Uverse wireless.

Suggestions welcome to fix this.
