Compression fittings

I'm planning on trying to use mostly compression fittings for my build.

Are there any brands/types I should stay away from & do the silver ones really matter?

Just get the cheapest?

I think I'll use 1/2"ID & 3/4" OD tubing.

Bitspower is the most popular, they come in many colors etc. If you use 1/2 3/4 the compressions need to be 1/2 3/4.

I've just noticed some that aren't silver & aren't made by bitspower. These are a few bucks cheaper.

Have you heard of anyone having problems with the cheap ones? (poor build quality, etc).

Since there will be a bit of fluid touching the silver fittings, does that add any extra microbial protection or just supposed to be fore bling?

there are people who run loops successfully with nothing more than distilled and bitspower shining silver fittings (i think it's the shining silver...whichever ones have the silver coating)

Shining Silver is nickel plated, True Silver is .999 pure silver plated. The True Silver barbs seem to be silver all the way through, but the compression fittings have to have a lot more rigidity due to the collars that hold the tubing on. Silver is a fairly soft metal from what I understand, so the threads for the collars would strip out too easily if they were solid silver.

Atleast that's my take on it.

I am running the enzotech compression fittings with no issues and they were a little cheaper than the bitspower
