Exclamation BFG GTX 260 MAXCORE 55 under performing

Hello, this is very confusing. My GPU will only run at 400 MHz and I can not figure out why. I have tried different drivers. I am pretty sure it wouldn't be my PSU since my machine calls for a minimum of 700W I have a Thermaltake 850W I am using Win 7 Pro 64 bit.
My computer plays games fine at full speed for like 3 minutes then black screen for like 5-10 seconds, then image returns, but card is now down to 400 MHz.

Please help!!!

Sounds like your card could be overheating? Can you run furmark and report your temps?

Can you confirm that is thr GPU temp? Seems low for a 260GTX, even my old 260 got over that with its custom two 80mm fan cooling.

Well as you say it's not going to be your PSU, and you've tried different drivers.

All you can really do now is try underclocking the card a little and see if that helps

Could still be worth a try. Could be a faulty card? How long have you had the problem?
