Pull-Up bar, made by me!

So having seen 50 different door mount pull-up bars being advertised, it was easy to rule them out as being chinsey or as not being strong enough, might damage the door frame etc. So I did some googling and found some ideas. All the parts were bought at Home Depot for about 35 USD total.

1x 48" long 3/4 threaded pipe
2x 3/4" elbows
2x 8"x3/4" threaded pipes
2x 3/4" flanges
1x 2"x8' PT board
Deckmate 4" screws
Deckmate 2" screws

Pull-ups work every damn muscle from the waist up. I love doing them. Right now I do 10-15 sets of 10 with push ups.

Looks like you're working out in some barn house in Siberia to the Rocky IV Soundtrack.

Ouch! I work out like a boxer does. However my house is far from a barn. That is the basement

Hmmmmm.... I don't see any denial of working out to the Rocky soundtrack there....

Btw, very nice house. I love the natural wood look. How difficult is the maintenance/upkeep of making sure you don't get water/weather damage on the wood?

Thanks! Well the paint\varnish is a sealer from the weather. It has to be re-painted every 3-4 years. Except for the actual logs all of the other wood(deck) etc is Pressure Treated. We did under estimate the forces of mother nature....

Dam!
I can do 3-4 sets on a machine that can (and I do) take weight off of you.
Thats great power to weight ratio.
