[Headstand]

I know there have been many CompTIA threads, but I didn't find a Server+ one. So, I have knocked out Security +, Net + and A+ and tried Server+ this morning. Barely missed it. I really don't need it, and I will not be looking for a job for a good while, but since this is the last week for lifetime certifications, I thought I would go for it.

Question is, should I try again tomorrow(last chance). I am almost positive I can pass it a second time around, only problem is it will cost another $239.

What say the masses?

everything you can bring to the table during your interview process the better imo, just don't try to talk to it if its not your strongest area.. speak to what you know the most and just mention the fact that you have x,y,z certs under your belt as well.

"almost" every job will train you on what they want you to do initially and make a lot of your education null, but its a resume builder at the very least. IMO if you have the cash and sure you can pass it.. I'd go for it

Thanks. As for the resume, I have no need for one for a good while. I am pretty much locked into my current job for about 10 more years. It may help with a little in the future, but we will see.

I spoke to the girl at the testing center and she isn't sure if she will have any more test slots left this week. If not, I may just forget it.

I am really at a loss, I wanted to have 4 of them before the lifetime certs ended. After the new year, I have to turn my focus back to Cisco.

Server+ is NOT one of the expiring certs. But who cares....its practically a dead cert right now as the world migrates to virtualization and beyond. The other 3 are the ones employers ask for the most.

I can't post the word I want to but, D**M, D**M, D**M, D**M, D**M. I thought Server was the 4th one to lose it's lifetime cert. You are completely right, it is just A+, Net+ and Sec+. If I had known that, I wouldn't have jumped the gun to get it done so quick.

Much thanks to SteveLord, I got a call from the girl this morning with a slot and almost took it, I was gonna try and cram at lunch time and take it again, now I can relax for the holidays.
