Can I use an IDE to Sata converter on an internal Zip Drive?

My father in law has an internal zip drive that he refuses to do without. The new computer only has 1 ide connector, which both of his old dvd burners will be using. Will a converter work on his zip drive? I know they work great for hard drives, but I've never tried it on anything else. I'm looking at getting this one here.

Buy him a 1GB usb flash drive and throw the zip drive away ?

lol, it leads me to believe the only reason he is still using this old tech is probably because he has so much invested in zip disks ? and cannot justify moving away from the media due to the amount of cash spend on them ?

IMNSHO, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132009 is better More options for connection (2 total SATA usable between 2 ports each internal and external), using SATA doesn't disable PATA and vice-versa, supports RAID, and might be a few cents cheaper after 15% promo code

Thanks for the feedback guys. PhysX, he's got a 4GB flash drive, I guess he just likes to have the multiple small unit disks. He's got about 40 of them, and it makes him happy so I'll just go with it. (We're talking about a guy who was upset because some old amortization software wouldn't work on his new computer because it's probably 16-bit.)

Great idea on the controller card, didn't even think of it. Will probably go with the Rosewill, since the reviews on the other indicated there were problems with Win7 x64.
