Hawk Talon Attack Geforce GTX460

I am building a new PC as it is way over due, current system is over 6 years old.

I got a Hawk Talon Attack Geforce GTX460 card. It requires two of the 6 pin PCIe power connections. So that is a total of 4 Molex connectors I need for this card.

I also got the NZXT Tempest Evo case which has 6 fans on it and front LEDs.

Right now I have 3 fans hooked up to the system board and 3 fans/the LEDs hooked up to one Molex chain. So unfortunately that only leaves me 1 Molex chain for the GTX460. I can hookup one of the PCIe power connectors on that chain and could connect half of the other one, but that still leaves me short on Molex connector.

Would it be safe to connect that other Molex connector to the chain with the 3 fans and LEDs on it?

This is the PSU I got - SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze 620W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply.

If not I think my only options are to drop 3 fans and the LEDs, but then I worry about the system overheating. I have one SATA chain free but that is not helping me.

I'm not sure where I read this but I don't think it's a good idea to put critical system hardware on the same line as fans. Does your PSU not have any sort of PCIe connectors?

You know I honestly did not check. Now that you mention it it does have a 6 pin connector on it. I imagine that is what that is. I will have to check.

This is the first system I have built in awhile and the first time I have had to deal with PCIe power connectors. So am a little bit of a beginner on it all.

We all start somewhere and head elsewhere. I would suggest checking your PSU for PCIe connections before worrying about how many molex connectors it's going to take. Is your PSU modular or does it just have a bunch of wires coming out of it?

I looked up your PSU on Newegg and it said this:
Quote:
Dual PCI-E Connectors
With one 6-pin and one 6+2 pin PCI-E connectors, the SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze allows you to build up a SLI or CrossFire gaming system.
You should be good to go.

You can search all of Newegg's items, even discontinued/deactivated ones by typing your search terms into Google along with site:newegg.com. This will give you all of the old items that the Newegg search leaves out. It's a great way to find info quickly on older hardware.
