I'm building a custom mini-ITX system using
Thermaltake SD100 home theater case:
http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1414&ID=1894
and
Jetway NC98 MB
http://www.jetwaycomputer.com/NC98.html
I know that the power is internal for the case and the board normally uses a 12 60w wall wart PS. but I don't want a system with a wall wart, and this is the only MB that I can find that meets my requirements for:
So, I hope to build a cable between the PS connector in the case and a plug for the MB and lead it outside the case.
My questions are:
Thanks,
windy

I know that the power is internal for the case and the board normally uses a 12 60w wall wart PS. but I don't want a system with a wall wart, and this is the only MB that I can find that meets my requirements for:
- DVI output,
- DDR2 memory
- Atom D525 processor
So, I hope to build a cable between the PS connector in the case and a plug for the MB and lead it outside the case.
My questions are:
- What do I need to watch out for with this PS?
- Does PS get upset of some rails are not connected? Like 5V? Right term rails? For multiple connections from PS to molex connector?
- Can rails - if there are multiple 12v rails - be connected together?
- MB actually has Molex connector to power disk drives, but I can't "back power" the MB with that right? Bad Idea I'm assuming since there might be some sort of regulator between that and rest of MB.
- Anything else I need to watch for?
Thanks,
windy
