Can't connect to my repeater (WRT54GL with DD WRT)

I'm using a WRT54GL as a repeater wit DD-WRT, I had to change my network password so after that I connect to the repeater with a cable to change the network pass and I type in the ip address which it used, 192.168.1.2 and nothing comes up. I also did run>cmd>ipconfig and it doesnt display a default gateway ip for some reason. I had wireless adapter disabled and it was the only router connected to the laptop. I tried a laptop with both XP and windows 7.

Any ideas?

I've never run DD-WRT with a repeater setup, but you could always revert to stock settings.
