I don't think that's an SSD error, it sounds like it's having trouble reading from the XP install disk.

Just reboots to the bios post and stops again. Tried the whole partition format again with same results.

Yea it's something like that. I put the original HD back in and can access the Vertex 2 with some window files there.

Next.
1) Partition/Format in xp and see if i get farther.
2) Buy a key for my Windows 7 and try to install it.

If you're set to AHCI or RAID mode you'll need F6 drivers.

Closer...

Nforce4 IDE only no AHCI

Still Confused. I Partition/Format in xp did the normal loading system files rebooted and WOW No (A disk read error occurred-----Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart.) It rebooted and finished the xp install. Knowing xp alignment started at sector 63 i chose to try to align the drive a different way starting at sector 64.

Used Diskpar in xp with vertex as spare drive. Partition, 64k offset, NTFS 4096, active, done. Vertex only atttached, xp cd, no partition just fast NTFS format and install. It loads the system files reboots and the (A disk read error occurred-----Press CTRL-ALT-DEL to restart.) happens again.

Any Ideas? Is this a MBR problem? Tried fixboot, fixmbr, chkdsk /r, and fell a sleep while looking for a free MBR program. In computer management i noticed the vertex was assigned different drive letters like :E or :F. Would that cause the bios not to see the drive?
