Setting up a Skype server

Hello guys.

I'm considering using sykpe for my home telephone but unsure how i would go about setting this up.

Has anyone on here setup a skype server and is it effective?

Hi paul,

You can do this, but I'd recommend holding off a bit for the Google Voice SIP service. There has been a bit of news about it lately, and it'd be free vs whatever you'd have to pay for Skype-out service.

If you want to go the Skype route, you can get check out their page showing compatible phones, thus bypassing the need for a dedicated physical server.
