Can i install toshiba hardware on my dell computer?

my friends dell computer is all screwed up it wont even listen to certain commands. i was wondering if i could use the disk for my toshiba laptop to install factory settings she doesn't have her disk.

The thread title says hardware but sounds like you mean software... what exactly are you trying to do?

If her operating system is messed up beyond repair, backup data, reformat, reinstall OS, and update all the drivers and OS.

You can't use the driver disk from a toshiba on a dell. Dell has a website where she can input her service tag and get all the drivers for her computer in one place. She could go to this site after an OS reinstall to update everything other than the OS.
