drm memory running at 560 MHz according to AIDA64 but if you look at the Extreme Memory Profile, it should be capable of running reliably at 800 MHz with much tighter memory timings. How do I increase memory timing using bios.Help would be appriciated.Newby at this.Already OC to 2.94ghz blk 140

Please find spec attached.Help would be appriciated

At the current BCLK of 140, the closest you can get to DDR3-1600 (800MHz) without going over is DDR3-1400 using the x10 System Memory Multiplier. Currently the multiplier is set to x8 (2:8 BCLK : DRAM ratio) = DDR3-1120. If you bump the multiplier up to x12 (2:12), then the effective DRAM frequency would be DDR3-1680 (840MHz). In order for the RAM to run at exactly DDR3-1600, the BCLK would need to be increased to either 160 or 200, w/ the multiplier adjusted to x10 or x8 respectively.

hi redduc900 Thanking you for advice.I decided to go even further and oc to 3.255 ghz blk155 x21 so ram is now ddr3-1550 x 10 multi.Dropped vcore down to 1.175v in bios but cpuz states 1.136v.is the voltage ok or should I raise it.did not raise Uncore voltage qpi. stressed test mixed ram test using prime 95-all ok.rm temp 26c .case temp 21c.What is your opinion.Newby,I think I did well for virgin oc.specs are attached. And tell me if the temps are ok.Using noctua nh-u12p se 2. Realtemp guru told me temps are fine.and if I wanted I can
overclock even further due to tjmax headroom. Thanks Clockon:salute:

Everything looks good other than the current DRAM timings of 9-9-9-24 at DDR3-1550. XMP timings for that RAM are 6-7-6-18-2T at 800MHz and 1.60V, so you may want to tighten CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS, and Command Rate to those settings. Unless you're still in the process of finding your max. BCLK / overclock, then adjust the DRAM multiplier to x8 (155 x 8 = DDR3-1240) and the timings at the current 9-9-9-24. The final / eventual DRAM frequency and timings can be modified to suit afterwards.

Thank reddduc900 .I am happy with the cuurrent oc speed for now.So does that mean I tighten CL, tRCD, tRP, tRAS to 6-7-6- 18-2t and increse voltage to 1.6v

Thanks redduc900. Sorrry I am alittle confused.I am happy with current OC speed for now,In the bios it states 7-7-7-28 cmd rate 1.do i change that to 6-7-6-18 and cmd rate to 2 and do I have to increase memory voltage to 1.6.Do I does each channel have to be the same.
Also can I drop the cpu vcore down any more.I am Almonst there for now.You have bee a great help thanks clockon.see attached bios jpg

Yes, change the four primary timings under Standard Timing Control to 6-7-6-18, and Command Rate to 2. Leave the rest of the sub-timings under Advanced Timing control set to Auto, and make sure all three channels (A, B, and C) are set alike. Also adjust the DRAM voltage to 1.60V. And the current core voltage (Vcc) of 1.136V w/ a 600MHz overclock may be a little high, depending on the VID (default Vcc) of your particular chip. You could try lowering it even more, but make sure to run Prime and check for stability after each step down in voltage.

:bang headHi redduc900 .I increased blk to 160 to get 800hz memory speed.and 1.6v
timing is 6.7.6.18 2t Boot fail.?see attached.I then decreased to blk 155.and everything ok.Is it better to leave the comand rate to 1T,because on other threads they state 1T is faster but not as stable as 2T ,is that correct. And why can't system boot at blk 160.It used to at higher blk before i touched memory.Alos prime95 fatal error rounding was.5 expected less than .4.I read this is caused by low vcore is that correct.

1. blk 155 memory timing 6.7.6.18 2t 1.6v system ok
2. blk 160 memory timing 6.7.6.18 2t 1.6v system boot fail.

Ok after all that I finally dicovered XMP and it set up evrything for me.But when using xmp with blk 160x10 multi it became ddr3-1800 or 1840 something like that . so I had to drop it down to blk 160x8 at ddr3 1480 cpu 3.55ghg vcore 1.136v 63-65c at full load (happy).
I cannot understand for th life of me why it woudn't working using your method as above. This has been a great learning experience I think it has to be trial & error.Ps I would luv to get it workig at ddr3-1600 without having to overclock it more.and would the increase dram freq improve things that much more?.Prime95 mixed test no errors.

Help,see attached thanks clockon

7-7-7 1t will almost certainly be faster then 6-7-6 2t, going from 1t to 2t costs you around 18% performance, and tightening from 7-7-7 to 6-7-6 doesn't gain anywhere close to that.

I would just bump QPI/VTT Voltage to 1.20V, DRAM voltage to 1.65V, and lower the Command Rate to 1T like Bob suggested. I also just noticed in the BIOS pic. you posted that tRC is set to 27, instead of the 34 that the DDR3-1600 XMP profile is programmed at.

so I disable xmp is that correct and set to 7-7-7-18 or 7-7-7-20 ? 1T .trc 34 QPI/VTT voltage to 1.2v,DRAM voltage to 1.65V, and lower the Command Rate to 1t and you said to leave advanced timing to auto ,so do I have to manualy set trc to 34 instead of leaving it on auto. Also the rate voltage on the back of memory(ram) packaging states 1.6v but on internet reviews .packaging it says 1.65?

1. Disable XMP.
2. set QPI/VTT to 1.2. Set timing to 7-7-7-18 1T or 7-7-7-20 1T?
4. advance timing-set trc to 34
5.set DRM voltage to 1.65.
6.do I set spd to x 10 to get dr3 -1600 or leave spd at x 8.at ddr3-1480

please avise if above is correct.thanks Clockon

Hi all, I have set to ddr 1600 (800hz) 7-7-7-20 1T oc to 3.36ghz vcore @1.137v(Bios),Cpu-z states vcore @ 1.04v,drm voltage @ 1.5v QPI/VTT voltage 1.20 v .prime95 test for 1 hr no errors.
I left the drm voltage @1.5v. Should I increase it to 1.6v because everything is running fine. Can I improve on anything.thanking you. Clockon
