But I am glad to see them shipping. The article is probably right about a great HTPC chip. More income for AMD!

If we're going down the DC path for this, I suggest Rosetta since I have two Atom based systems presently participating in the Rosetta contest:

Asus Eee PC 901 - Atom N270 (single core hyperthreaded) Running 2 threads, it is presently at 127.89.

Intel BOXD525MW Intel Atom D525 - Atom D525 dual core at 1.8 GHz. I'm only running two threads because I'm not sure if hyperthreading on an Atom will build more RAC. It is at 251.49.

Together the two of them are not enough to qualify for the Rosetta prize drawing, but the extra points on my RAC is worth three places at the moment.

you will get higher RAC with a Atom box using HT vs just the two cores.
