anyone overclocked a gateway?

well, my desktop finally got a virus i couldnt shake, never thought id do or say this after building and clocking but i bought a gateway, only because it has an amd proc and an ati radeon graphics................anyhow

its an nv53a

its got an amd turion ii p540 dual core running at 2.4g

been out of the loop for a while, how overclockable is this proc and has anyone been able to find a decent stable setting?

dont know much about laptops,i wouldnt think you can add more fans etc so, is it even safe to do?

Laptops are created with portability and noise in mind. These two factors mean that performance and cooling are not high priority, and make overclocking difficult to impossible.

Since there is going to be no settings for the processor within the BIOS, you will have to do everything in Windows. You will need to know what clock generator the motherboard has, which usually requires disassembly.

Bottom line, it isn't worth overclocking retail systems and definitely not when it comes to laptops.
