Asus P8p67 Pro Sound question

I am in the process of upgrading to sandy bridge, and have a question regarding the onboard audio of the p8p67 pro motherboard.

Currently i have an x-fi gamer that i use CMSS with a set of sennheiser headphones. Will i need to install the X-fi or does the onboard audio support surround sound?

The package has not arrived yet, but from the spec sheet, it appears that surround sound is now supported through the onboard audio.

The onboard sound supports surround sound.
