Plasticize Free Tubing

I would like to know if anyone have used Tygon 2001 Plasticizer Free, Primochill LRT or MasterKleer tubing before?

The reason I asked, is because I trying to find tubing that doesn't cloud the liquid within the tube.

Any thought?

A lot of us use Primochill LRT, and you will see it highly recommended around here.

So, no cloud problems at all with Primochill LRT? Also, how long did you run your loops before cleaning?

I haven't had any clouding with the Primochill. I have only had my loop up and running for a little over a year, but shortly after the year mark, I did to a tear down and complete cleaning. The water came out as clean as the day that I had filled the loop. I am not too sure about the Tygon, as I started with Primochill from the beginning. This was actually at the advice of quite a few members here. At the time, I was considering Masterklear, but was told of the possibility of clouding.

I didn't click the links in your OP, so I'm not too sure of your color of choice. Even if you are going with clear, you should be fine with the Primochill, and if the Tygon says plasticizer free, then you shouldn't have any problems with that either. Generally, Primochill is a bit more on the inexpensive side compared to Tygon, so that would be the route I would take.

I use Primo LRT, Still using tubing over two years old. Still clear. I drain and fill, drain again, then refill every 6 months. At the year point I tear it all down, clean it all, run a rag through the tubing.

Still clear.

That is the one thing I'm not looking forward to. Running a rag through my tubing. I don't mind tearing down the set up, as I love to tinker with stuff, but running rags through tubes just grates on my nerves for some reason. I've done it with projects that had nothing to do with w/c a pc.

I know...

no, I have 3603. I don't recall anyone on here using tygon either, LRT is the most recommended tubing on this site, my loop was built just before I started using this site for information, or I would be using LRT as well.

Conundrum used some Tygon on his original loop, IIRC. Not sure what model, though.

Most likely I will go with Primo LRT, but I still want to keep my options open before I purchase. But Im hoping that I can find someone that used Tygon 2001 in their loop.

I used the Silver. Overpriced and ugly. Not needed in a WC loop.

I tend to think this is a "more bang for your buck" kind of forum. Being that Primochill LRT is just as good as (if not better than) Tygon, for less money, more of us will be going for the Primochill. The same goes for fans, which is the reason Yate Loons are still highly recommended. I would say you are more likely to encounter users of Primochill here rather than those with Tygon.

At the same time, we also aren't the type that recommend cheaping out on parts either. Just have a look around the PSU forum for evidence of this.

I can recommend MasterKleer but have only used the clear 7/16" ID & 5/8" OD for $.49 per foot.

My current batch has been in my loop since last June (almost a year) and is clear. Last water change September 2010 when I did some work on a pump inlet. Only use silver coil + distilled.

Good luck.

It's not as good as other brands. It clouds up faster, and kinks easier.

Still, it's a cheap entry level tubing that will work in a WC rig. Nothing wrong with it, just there is better.

Dunno, any luck at the stores listed in the sticky? Never needed to look up purple.

I know of several that glow purple under uv light but they are black in regular light.

You could use white tubing with purple anti kink coils.
