Noobish Memory Cas Question

So I'm in the process of upgrading my PC I built almost 2 years ago..and it has 6gb of corsair dominator cas 9 memory.

Wondering if I can buy a 6gb cas 8 corsair dominator to fill up the extra slots. It's on sale now for $99. I'm sure I can just buy whatever brand of cas 9 memory but I wanted it to be the same if possible.

Thanks in advance!

Can mix and match all you want, but the whole setup will only run as fast as the slowest sticks. IE: the CAS 8 stuff will bump up to CAS 9 or the CAS 9 kit might be able to run CAS 8 no problem.

Thanks!! I wanted to be sure before I bought anything.

Going with Patriot Viper II Sector 7 Edition. Can get a used 6gb set on the cheap and it runs on the same timings/voltage. Just installed an intel 120gb SSD and waiting on a MSI 6950 in the mail! Stoked cus I've been playing all my games with dx10 still on an older SLI setup.
