I've just started playing Mass Effect 1 and noticed alot of screen tearing during play. I've tried it with its own built in graphic option of vsync on and off, and the result is still the same. The fps is also always at 62 (wierd since my monitor is 60Hz) no mater if vsync is on or off. I have the nvidia drivers vsync option set to "Application", and have not tried to force vsync on. Before I try that though, was vsync broken in Mass Effect?

No clue. I've played with vsync both on and off, and never had problems, so I don't know whether it was broken or not.

Turned out to be the Ambient Occlusion setting in the Nvidia driver panel. Turning it off fixed everything.
