putting a blowhole out of top of case lowered my temps while case closed up by 9 deg C! without it i cannot run anything at all!
i get 43 idle 49 load, mabe because of 1700+ at 1700MHZ overclock + 1.9 volt CPUcore!, but probably just my bad luck, but i tested and i run stable up to 64 deg. so below 50 seems well below safety for this medium overclock aircooler (volcano 6cu).
normal thermal paste, and looser than ideal heat sink clips are my main problem. i cant find a cooler with tight clips, i returned one already and then gave UP!

You're not overclocking and your open case temp is only a couple degrees less than when closed. If the system is stable, I'd say you're fine.

decent cpu temps, however, the case temps suck. currently i have the same cpu temps as you (hopefully they will go down once i put in my pal8045) but get a case temp of 25c. you dont even need to make a blow hole, just figure out a way to mount a 92 or 120mm fan above all of your pci cards. i have a 92 mm above my vid and sound card and a slot cooler below it. I also have two 80mm intakes and two 80mm exhausts (one on the case and one on the psu). With all of that, and all of my case wires bundled up together w/ electrical tape, i get decent case temps. i think it is dangerous if the case temps get above 40c. i know it is so on intel mobo's but i aint sure bout amd ones.

Naw... talking to rob. The case temp difference between 28C and 30C could be a matter of having different thermal diodes. 39C is way too high, though.
