Possible to change OEM bios?

I was wondering, would it be possible to buy a new bios chip for a MB I had in a gateway, and to switch it out therefore getting rid of the manufacturer's bios blocking against oc? Or would the this specific MB be made only for gateway, and not able to by pass the bios block?

Unfortunately, most OEM motherboards are low-end/cheap and don't support O/C'ing. It's the board that's the limiting factor, not it's BIOS. Some can be hacked/rigged, but it's limited at best.
