EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB

Hi,

Next weekend I plan on taking apart my entire system due to a revamp of my cooling components. I figured, hey, while I have it taken apart, why don't I apply some decent TIM onto my GPU so that I could possibly overclock it confidently?

I only have a tube of AS5 and I'll be getting whatever comes with the Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B (Ordered Indigo Xtreme for the CPU TIM in an attempt to not have to second guess my application method).

Out of the AS5 and the Prolimatech stuff, which should I use for the GPU? And is the application method somewhat similar to applying TIM to a CPU (spread, peasize, rice, BBsize)?

Oh and my GPU is the EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB which I bought last July along with the better part of my system.

Thanks,

Found out the stuff that comes with the Prolimatech Megahalems is an older version of the PK-1 they sell retail. So I'm assuming it's them trying to get rid of the bulk of their old formula which will enable them to ship the new stuff once they run out.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your email.
The thermal compound included with our cooler is the previous version of PK-1.
We made some improvements and have it for retail. PK-1 is easier to apply, and has higher thermal conductivity.

Best regards,
