is there a single 8gb DDR3 ram stick avalibe> cant find one anywhere and would someone explain the whole the difference in cards with 800MHz and 2000Mhz memory speed? thanks
4GB on one stick is already slowish... 8GB of RAM on one stick would have really really loose timings, and would need an insane clock speed in order to perform well.
800MHz not very fast RAM. Takes longer to write to and read from the RAM.
2000Mz is stupidly fast RAM. Takes next to zero time to read and right from the RAM.
8000 mhz will most likely be DDR2 instead of DDR3. If this memory is going on a AMD CPU-based motherboard it would be a waste of money IMO to buy 2000 mhz ram as the AMD integrated memory controller is rated at 1333. But, you could sure run tight timings if you down-clocked the 2000 to 1333.
