Poor crossfire performance BC2

I realize there are many threads on this issue but none of them have helped at all.

Just bought a 6870 to crossfire with my 6850, have the app profiles and am on 11.7 drivers. Cant seem to get the high framerates that most are getting. with 1 card my framerates sat at around 45 avg at 1900x1080 with 8x aa and 16xaf. Now with 2 cards it gets around 43fps average and can even drop into the low 30's sometimes. Both cards are reported working in CCC and i get average of 75fps in DIRT3 on max settings. Is it just driver issues for BC2? it was great with 1 card and now im dissapointed. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ive run into the same issue and have a feeling its the cpu with bc2, but based off of benchmarks the x6 plays bc2 fine so im confused. It also does extremely well in single player, multilayer is where the hit is.

Some things people told me when I made a thread about this was to set ccc to application settings for aa/af, and to get a bigger monitor (as I was running a 17 lcd, and they said the low resolution would make the cpu work harder than the gpu). Maybe that could help you out?

Still havent figured it out yet. Whats your gpu useage at? Just curious.

All of my CCC settings for aa/af are on application. Im currently running 2 23.6in monitors. With one vid card my cpu usage was sitting at 40%, now with 2 cards cpu usage is at 80%.

Interesting. May try another forum? Apparently youre not gonna get much help here on the subject or so it seems. Wish I could help you more but thats pretty much where I sit gpu wise as well. I think its about 70-80 on one and 20-30 on another. But still manage about 65-75fps average in bc2 but other games are a constant 120+.

Seems to me its either a cpu bottleneck which doesnt make much sense, or due to the worthless gpu throttling bs they put in cards now days the cards arent able to run at their fullest potential. Just my thoughts anyways since ive hit a dead end road on figuring it out.

Whats your fps in single player on bc2? I can pull 150-200 no problem at all, multiplayer is where the big hit is for whatever reason.

Solved my problem. turns out it was with steam. Tried reinstalling the game sons team and that didnt fix the problem. Got the new origin software and isntalled BC2 through that and boom, works perfectly now. avg 80 fps on multiplayer
