there on the back of my mobo and there is a setting in the BIOS to change the flashing patterns
I wish they were not blue

Huh...that's a first for me then. Installing your own between the board and tray would make it more customizable. I don't really like them flashing, the steady glow looks better to me.
If you're good with a soldering iron, you may be able to swap out the LEDs.

Neat bling feature, not sure I've seen it integrated on the back of a mobo before. 
If they flash or something, would be cool if they were tied to HDD activity, or something like that.

I've seen something similar on my Crucial Tracer. Kind of annoying with the random flashing. I'm not sure if there was any rhyme or reason to the pattern. Is that the board in your sig?

I am pretty sure the intel extreme series has the same option back Leds.

Abit AW9D-MAX had these as well. Old picture of mine, sort of hard to see them.
