Help overclocking computer!

Help overclocking computer!


Hi, I need help overclocking my computer with the following specs:

Intel Core i5-2400

Asus P8Z68-V LE

Corsair XMS3 Classic 4GB DDR3 1333MHz

GTX 570 2.5GB HD



Please give me step by step as I am not very savvy with this stuff!

You can't really do it with what you have. At least very little. The 2400 has a locked multiplier. Only the "K" versions can be overclocked by the multiplier very easily.

Also, you need a P67 or Z68 based motherboard to be able to overclock a "K". Which you do have, but your cpu is not going to give you but a very minor BCLK overclock. It may be possible to get a 3% improvement with BCLK overclock, but that is iffy, and not worth it.

It is possible to overclock the integrated graphics a bit.

The 2400 is a great cpu, enjoy it for what it is.

You can go 4 bins over stock. Just increase your turbo or CPU multiplier settings 4 points.
