Hello all,

Love the forum been a long time reader/crawler. Been searching the tubes about turning external hard drives to internal ones. The general consensus is its slow, and not a good idea. But because internals now cost $150 to $200 for terebyte drives meanwhile externals prices have not raised as much and on black friday are going for $50 to $70.

Is there a noticable difference in applications and gaming on a 5400rpm drive over 7200rpm?

Would this get me through for a couple months until prices drop down or should i just suck it up and buy a smaller hdd?

Seek times will be a bit slower, as will sequential read/write.

If you don't need it to be fast, it will work just fine. Remember that it voids the warranty when you open the casing.
