help with onboard raid

this may be a really silly question but i was looking at the x79 asus rog iv rampage extreme for my new build it has 4 sata 3 6.gb ports two intel and two asm..... Something i have 4 crucial m4 64 i wanted to raid 0 for max performance is this going to work? I have never done anything past a simple 2 drive raid 0

If not can anyone suggest a board

I cannot use a controller i have 2 580 dcu2 triple slot vc that take up all the slots......

As far as I am aware you are unable to mix the controllers for RAID for you would be limited at 2-drives per RAID setup.

A side question and a piece of advice that I gave to another user here, do you actively do things that would consistently take advantage of having 6+ cores (and the price premium to go with it) or do you mostly browse, watch movies, and game on your PC?

According to the newegg specs:
2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), red and 4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), black support RAID 0, 1, 5, 10

The 4xSata2 (3Gb/s) one support 0,1,5,10. I'd guess that the red only support 0 and 1, if any (as it wasn't specified in the specifications)

If you are going to be benching with it then rock on

You can send a PM to our great mod hokiealumnus as he will be able to give some info about it (as he is doing a review on it).
