Phenom II X4 965 BE AM3 on AM2+ Mobo

I have an older rig with an Asus 790FX chipset M3A32-Deluxe Motherboard. When I originally built it, I had an Athalon X2 5800+ in it for what seems forever. Finally this christmas I was blessed with an AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4ghz Black Edition processor.

I updated my bios to the correct version to be able to use the processor. Removed the old processor and installed it with the stock fan.

So far everything is running great. It's like my computer has been reborn. I am just wondering if 40 degrees celsius is okay for CPU temp on normal loads. At idle im around 36C and after playing BF3, I only get to about 42C.

I am at stock clock speed at the moment and plan to leave it there for now till I get an aftermarket cooler.
