SB/SB-e require Vtt (VCCio?) to be within .5 of RAM voltage?

Someone brought this question up and I wasnt sure of the answer.

I know it was, for a fact, with s1366/s1156 (outside of gultown CPUs), but I am inquiring for FACTS if that holds true with s1155/s2011.

BUMP!

It was a fact on GT, too. As far as facts go. Of course, a goodly number of people ran more than .5 in benching without issues.

Anyway, it's not .5v on SB for two reasons:

1) The IMC is powered by VCCSA.
2) The intel ram voltage max is ~1.59 if I recall correctly, and the VCCIO/VTT default is 1.05v.

I thought GT could handle less than .5 though... vs others that could not? Probably mixing up information...heh.

Thanks for the information BobN!!!

They could all deal with less than .5 between 'em, more is where the issues lay.
I'm not aware of GT being more or less fragile from that issue, but I may have simply missed it. GT was definitely easier to kill in general though.

I wonder what Im thinking about then... oh well.

At least my question is answered. Thanks again!
