best PPC distro for a G5

i was given a G5 with dual 1.8's



whats the best ppc distro you can run on it? iv'e read Debian isnt all that hot..... is this true? should i run fedora 16? i'd like to know as soon as possible... thanks!

Gentoo would work decently, or yellowdog is good in the ppc department.

but is yellowdog free, if i recall, you do have to pay for it.
