Greetings.

I sold my previous HTPC, as i do some music recording. I used to have that in a different room, but as that room is used for something else now, I wanna have "melt" the studio into the HTPC.

The PC i had, Used the small Mini-ITX motherboards, and did not have the required Regular PCI slot that i need, as i have to install a special EMU 404 soundcard.

So i sold that off, and are now ready to build the new PC, that will be both things.

All websites i link to, are from danish shops, but spec's are mainly in english:

Case: 160$ (used)

Motherboard 65 $

Memory 61 $

CPU 0 $ (Reusing this one)

Storage

Here is where i need help (also like feedback on the ones i picked)

I need

- Low as possible noise PSU, Graphic card, CPU Cooler.

Regards Heindrik.

The case makes the amount of noise you make it make.

If you want quiet i would go as far as getting SSD harddrive aswell, but this may be blowing the budget.

You should use edbpriser.dk to find parts.

I wanted to make my HTPC quiet and small, this is not an option i found. Due to lack of space for air, the fan has to work hard to keep the CPU cool.

It all depends, but at some point i would presume your going to need at least one fan to move air around so the system doesnt run too hot.

I was not a big fan of the fusion cases. They look nice but thats about it.

Low noise means everything overheats (like hard drives). No way to make it high noise and runs cool either.

Look at a silencio or something. Larger fans can run slower and quieter while moving more air.

Another option is server chassis you will be able to fit a larger heatsink and you can swap out fans to run cooler. you dont need a volume control on the HTPC if you have on one your receiver/speakers.

I bought a used zalman case (see link). This means there is more space.

I also added a vertex 3 120 gb ssd. (all media will be stored on extern hdd's). It will mostly be streaming tv from websites.

I will look at those psu and cooler suggestions

Your still going to need some sort of fan cooling.
