Thumbs up Going back to H20!

Well I've had my fun with air (TR MUX120) and with an LCLC (Antec Kuhler 620) so I'm rebuilding my H20 setup. Parts will be:

XSPC RX360 Triple 120mm Radiator
XSPC Rasa HP Cpu WB
Swifty MCRES
Swifty MCP-600
1/2" Tubing all around

I know the pump is an oldie, but @ 600LPH it can't be bad. I had one lasted 7 years before giving up it's ghost. This particular pump has been modded by our famous Captain Slug

It's gonna be fun modding up my CM Cosmos 1000. I've been itching to get back to modding again

I'll keep this thread updated. Of course any comments will be appreciated

I have almost that exact setup in my rig and I have no problems at all. It pumps fine on a single loop to the cpu with 3/8 id tubing. My rad is the stock one that came with the kit and should be upgraded, but still cools fine in fact I am folding right now on this rig as I type and my temps are @ 57-58c and it has been folding/running since yesterday morning. I like this kit. Awesome price to performance. I am thinking about a buying a new cpu block just to try something new, play with different products, and change the look. Have fun man, I know I love water myself!

Nice temps for a kit Yeah I've been watercooling for years, but I wanted to try something different. Haven't aircooled in years, but I found I don't like the noise. That's why I'm going back to water.

I'm going to start cutting up the case over the wknd to have it ready for the rad. I'm looking forward to it too

Nice! Hope to see some pics. I am going to try air on an AMD system I want to build, since I went right to water on my first sig rig. I have an old AMD Athalon 64x2 that I am going to stick in a board since their cheap, air cooled and beat on it a bit while learning the AMD side of this.Have fun man!

Thx. You'll be ok with air on an old AMD. I'm sure you'll have fun

I'm search of a radiator template now for the RX360.

I did just about the same thing, shelved my water cooling gear for a low wattage build. But now it's out and humming along.

Sounds like a decent rig is coming together!

For templates, I just tape two pieces of paper together and do a pencil rubbing and cut it out.

If you're looking for a reusable plastic template, FrozenCPU sells one that's compatible with any rads with 15mm spacing:

Any recommendations on a air cpu cooler for that AMD cpu? AM2 socket I believe although most of the stuff I have seen for AMD seems to be universal. Meaning AM1 AM2 AM3 sockets all seem to be able to fit the same coolers I think at least.

Depends on your budget. So far the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO seems to be the talk of the town for it's cooling ability and the fair price tag.

The XIGMATEK Gaia SD1283 seems like a real good cooler too. Especially for it's price.

Onto my H20: I cleaned out the MCP600, but found in my stash plastic barbs for 1/2" Looks like I'll be getting chrome fittings for it.

Also found the template needed so i'm set. Got my trusty sunbeam fancontroller, but gotta do the LED Mod so the leds won't be so dang bright.

Well air is a lot cheaper than water so my budget is not a concern for this especially since I have cpu,psu,hdd,cd/dvd drives. Only need a mobo which @ microcenter I can get cheap. I like the hyper 212.For looks and performance I was looking @
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/99...0c14s220#blank

or
http://www.frozencpu.com/products/94...0c14s220#blank

But I may just go with something like the 212. I like overkill! ha ha Thanks for your opinion as the 212 is a great bang for the buck and you reinforced that.

Yeah, the CM 121 EVO is a great bang for your buck cooler. Saves you $$ for other things

I got fans coming with the rad. Looks like 3 of these .

I also have 3 Scythe Slipsteam SY1225SL12SH which are the 110CFM ones which I might use instead over the XSPC fans. I'll be using a fancontroller anyways so more cfms over noise is always good.

That is gonna sound like a jet starting up! ha ha! I use a fan controller myself but only on my 60 cfms.I was looking at those higher end fans as well but wasn't sure I needed them. Those Scythe fans are nice,I may use them in the AMD case that I need to start messing with.I need to figure out exactly what I am doing and what I will need for that build unlike jumping into it like I did my first rig and wasted A LOT of money. Good luck man, hope to see some pics in the future!

It looks like you can use just about any fan you'd like on that rad, 200W @ 600rpm nets an 8C delta (according to Skinnee).
Fan control the daylights out of 'em and enjoy the quiet!

*Update*

Hot diggity! My H20 parts finally arrived! I got everything including the distilled water ($1 @ store) and found my PTNuke .

Now I'm debating wether or not to install it. Awaiting on a full ATX board to do the complete switch-over. I'd hate to install it now only to take it apart to switch motherboards

Yeah, my case doesn't have that opening behind the mobo tray to remove the backplate from sinks/blocks to make it easier. I might just hack one out using my dremel

Bah I waited this long, alittle while longer won't hurt...right?

Yep, it's time for a dremel attack. I can't on my case 'cause Lian-Li decided to skip the mobo plate and mount the mobo directly to the right hand door....guess that's a removable tray of sorts!?!

If the board has a decent full pic online, measure that up to position a new hole right where you need it, then have the case ready when it gets there. Save image, then blow up to full size and measure right off the monitor.
And charge your camera batteries!!

Bad news: My rad won't fit ontop with the fans attached Rad thickness is under 3" which clears the edge of mobo by about a 1/4" or so. With the fans it's 3 1/2" thick and it knocks right into the board with zero clearance for the ram

My only option is to mount the rad underneath the top of the case then mount the fans outside of the case from the top down .
