Question Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Router Help

Hi, I have some questions I'd like to ask all of you knowledgeable folks.

A retarded friend of mine gave me his older Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router (WRT54GS) with SpeedBooster and I'm having issues with it.

I can see the name of the router amongst the available wireless connections in the taskbar, but I cannot connect to it wireless for some reason.

I have it password-protected, but I can't log in. Isn't this password the same as it is for logging into the router's web-page?

Also, can anyone explain this to me? See the following screenshots.

What button do I need to push? Is it on the router?

I really appreciate everyone's time! I emailed Linksys over a week ago and have yet to get any help.

Your wireless network password can be the same or different from the router's password. Click the "wireless security" tab and set a new or check the current password.

The Linksys SES feature will only work with compatible Linksys gear.

If you have linksys wifi card then check the linksys wifi software for "ses".

Thanks guys! I appreciate your time. Turns out I did everything right in the first place. I just unplugged the router and plugged it back up a few minutes later and all works. Not sure what the deal was but, it works.

Also, I'm not too familiar with using 3rd party router software, but I have seen it being discussed on other forums. Seems interesting, but is it safe to use. Why would I want to use one? I mean, I'd hate to damage a router.

Also, check this link out. Looks like there are a lot of choices. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...mware_projects

Take care, guys!
