Only 'new' thing on this is the addition of the lamp as a stand.

it'll work great. just using the colander as a parabolic collector/emmitter. If you had something similar on the other end, you could get quite a good connection at distance.

Yeah, the pringles can thing would be cheaper, though fugly. Thing is that leeching wifi is illegal and a setup like that would give you away.
