192GB ram

If i get a high end motherboard and stick it full of ram sticks (windows ultimate 64 bit max ram is 192GB)

could i maybe use it as a harddrive?

I could open close save, move, copy at lightning speed right?

xDD

Sort of. What you're talking about is called a RAM Drive, which does have it's uses.

However, RAM is volatile memory. As soon as RAM loses power, any data that was stored on the stick is lost.

hehe

theoretically i could leave it on the whole time and put the pc in a special refrigerated box so i can keep cool at all times!

Refrigerators are designed to take a warm object, like food, and make it cool. Once it's cool, it stays cool.

A computer, on the other hand, is a constant heat source. Hence why the old putting part of your liquid cooling loop in a fridge doesn't actually work without some heavy modifications to the fridge itself. Keeping the PC cool 24/7 isn't the real issue though, I barely ever turn my desktop off on air cooling.

It's pretty much impossible to prevent all accidental power interruptions, even with a device such as a UPS.

Even though I appreciate people like you that come and create brand new crazy ideas that may create something wild and awesome, it's not going to work. A "modified" refrigerator could be, some kind of phase cooling device. And that's used, but not worth it, because of noise and power consumption.

I didnt mean realistically, (as if i will get enough money for that much ram )

I was thinking of something that would constantly pump heat out and if i have enough money for that much ram, i can afford the electricity! and put that whole thing into a noise proof box so it is basically a box in a box in a box

also noise cancelling headphones are also plausible

Yep. Everything is possible when you have the cash. :3

You could basically buy one of LD's unit, install it, then get an anecoic chamber just for the computer, install it there, run wires out to the screen and I/O devices, just like a KVM and enjoy.

But I'd rather go liquid cooling with a high concentration of 1,2-ethanediol and chill the water with a Hailea unit. A bad boy that could dissipate and cool down to 270 K a big load. Or use another solution...

Or...
Or...

Aaaah... I'm getting creative, and that's bad. Then I get awesome ideas, and find my wallet starving. Dammit.

Don't forget that the amount of messages isn't an indicator of how good the user is!! Don't get too obsessed with that.
Look at me, with over 1k messages, and I'm nothing but a learner here! :3
