Radeon Owners: How do you watch DVD?

I've been playing around with the 8500, but one thing confuses me. On my old G400 MAX, I could watch DVD on TV out by using the DVDMax feature. It's not so clear how do pretty much the ame thing on the Radeon 8500.

I notice the ATI DVD player maximizes the DVD screen on the TV automatically, but I paid good money for PowerDVD XP, and want to get my money's worth. What's the best setting for TV Out for DVD viewing?

Should I use an extended desktop, or clone setting, and what resolution (16 or 32 bit) etc.? How do you watch DVD? Any advice appreciated.

My impressions so far, I dont know, I think the G400 looked a little better in image quality for DVD viewing, but Im hoping thats just due to not using the most optimal settings.

i can't answer your question mate, but I'm surprised you say that the radeon 8500 is not as good on viewing dvd's. It shoudl be the best. But try reading the faq that hopefully came with your card, or read on the ati homepage, or (the last or) find some reviews on the card.

Brutha, I read the manual, surfed the website, did searches on Google, etc. Im absolutely befuddled that something this simple wouldnt be laid out in plain English for me. For example in ATI's manual:

You can enable TV out, by (tells you how) and that's pretty much it. Ok I have TV out enabled. But should I use an extended desktop display, use the clone setting, or make the TV the primary display or what now. I mean what's the best setting? ATI doesnt say, I think primarily because their DVD player maximizes the viewing screen automatically when TV out is enabled, no matter how you set it I believe. However I use PowerDVD XP because its much more feature rich.
