Your advice

Have an old Asus A8jp note book starting to show its age.
Question: Any point in installing Windows 8 (lower resource consumption) and
a 120gb SSD, to get a little more use out of the basic machine.
Machine has the T7200 cpu, and 2gigs of memory.
Windows 8 is available for $40 (upgrade from XP) and prices for
120 gb SSD becoming more attractive.

Depends on your uses and cash flow of course!

If you are just using for web browsing, and have the cash to throw at it, I'd do it. Or just throw win7 on it even if you have a spare license laying around.

It really just depends on your situation.
