AMD boards Marvel Controllers for SSDs

It might bottleneck the SSD a bit. Dunno about a Crucial M4, it's a bit slower than the Sandforce screamers. Doesn't the 970 chipset give any native SATAIII ports?

Just plug it into a native SATAIII port and you should be fine.
 
I know the Marvel controller I had on my X58A-UD3R board had trim issues , the newer controller should be fine :)

So we plug em SSDs into the native ports or the marvel newer controllers?

My tot was if we spend that kinda of $ on SSDs, we wana get it to work at the speeds its supposed to ya..
 
Yep, The main controller on the board, not the Marvell (I have deja vu...werent we talking about this same thing in another thread?)
