XP 2000+ AGOIA OC results

Its a week 5 , 2002 "y". Sounded pretty nice to me. The new 2100+ will have this code also, so logically it should be a bit better than the AGOGA ones.

I have to say that although the default speeds the 2000+ and even 1900+ are able to reach are higher than the 1700+ and 1800+ used to do, supercooling doesn't really get them much further. I know I made an unstable 2 GHz on an 1800+, a stable 2 GHz on a 1900+ and now a stable 2.03 GHz with this 2000+
I am, by the way, using a Vapochill. Its slightly modded with a more powerful fan on the radiator.

I'm running 161 x 12.5 because the damn thing is still locked I could score much higher with 180 FSB, but for now this'll have to do I suppose...

here's the link to 3Dmark where you can see the CPU speed :

http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2905811

for now I am at 2.00 Vcore on my 8KHA+. Because of some complications with the Vmod this is all the voltage I can give it at the moment... I have to say the CPU did benefit quite a LOT from 1.90 to 2.00 , so I am guessing I can get another 10 or 20 MHz stable from it when I go to 2.05 or 2.10. After that I think heat will get the better of it. But my stressed temps are still reading -13C on the evaporator. This results in a CPU temp in the low 20C range. I've just migrated from the ABIT KR7A to this EPoX. 2 KR7A's died on my upon exiting the BIOS ... and since this EPoX has memory voltage up to 3.20, that saves me some soldering on the board. I can boot at 2060 and 2070 maybe, but when I get that multiplier down i'll get a 2100 MHz + screenshot with on the fly FSB change
Not like it means anything, but its a nice number still.

cheers

JC

Wow, very great overclock, and damn excellent cooling Vapochill. I'm pretty sure after a voltage mod and adding more voltage to the core, unlocking it, and adding more voltage to the ram you'll be able to squeeze some more mhz.

ahh 13k, but its at a lower res... do a default bench so we can get the realest idea how how that 2ghz works with your 8500.
ive only gotten 9018 with my ti500 and my XP@1.752ghz. so i wanna see how far im off from yea

Thats only at 1870 Mhz with a 1700+ , but higher FSB and a higher clocked radeon. Its not my R8500 so i have to leave it stock ... no memory heatsinks or anything

http://gamershq.madonion.com/compare2k1.shtml?2905695 at 2020 MHz but lower clocked radeon

as you can see I'm having a cache problem at this speed. The L2 has gone to 64K instead of 256

why is that? u fry the cpu with too much voltage?
sounds really weird.. i wonder how bad that would affect the cpu. im sure it would kill the whole advantage of the 2ghz with 1/3 the cashe size.

i heard something about that b4 actualy how cold are u keeping it? i heard that sometimes with extreem cooling the l2 cache drops to 64k.... just a bug in the chip i think....

well maybe it does that cuz w the extra cooling the cpu uses more memory or hdd useage.. but i think i would be that other way around.. so when the cpu gets too hot is uses less cashe to not work as hard to control the heat. that really bites.. i wont if it has to do with the .18 mhz barrier.. i mean 2ghz has been said to be the barrier if not close for the .18 core micron process. so im not all into the techically stuff as i wish i knew, but thats whats came to mind.

The problem kicks in mainly after 2000 MHz and more than 2.15Vcore. At lower voltages it doesn't occur....

well my vcore mod is 2.15v, heck i hope it doesnt do that to my 1900+
maybe its a bug in the wcpuid program?

It won't happen unless you're really cooling your chip hard ... its a known problem. the cache in this chip can't take 2100 MHz i've noticed. When it kicks back to 64K i can do 2100+ screenshots
