Hi guys, I'm helping out a friend to cool off his gtx580 ref model by EVGA.
He wants to build a loop for that for now...
I've read the stickies and done some amount of research back when I wanted to build a custom loop with a card rad.

I found these parts as the cheapest for his build, and also Sidewinder ships international so I'll have to buy everything there.

Do you think that's ok for a 580?
Do I need to order any fittings or anything else besides the coolant and killcoil?

Thanks!

Distilled water. Looks okay. Once he starts he'll proly need a better pump etc for CPU and the second card. Addiction. Talk him into a 35x and a res for the 35x. Unless he only wants GPU cooling, then he's fine.

Yeah, I'll offer him to go that route, but he's doing gpu only for now and he's on a budget, so I picked those parts up.
Is that tubing correct for the pump/res and wb? All 3/8 id, not sure on the pump/res...
I might help him build it, so it's free fun for me :p

You buy barbs for the pump, none shipped. Pump not in stock, could be not made anymore.

None for the CPU block also.

Tubing is only 1/16" wall thickness, kinks easy. Your choice. You need clamps if you go barbs, cheapest, at a auto store, get stainless.

Noted...I'll see how much he can spend and keep scouting the classifieds here and at ocn, plus Sidewinder just in case.
Thanks man.

EDIT: Found some used stuff... mcw82 universal waterblock for $60 shipped, xspc rs240 rad for $55 shipped and mcp355 pump and res top for $100 shipped.
Those prices are kinda high compared to getting all from Sidewinder, perhaps an XSPC 750 kit for cpu, and get an extra universal gpu wb. What do you think?
He can then replace the pump when he needs to go full loop and add another 240 rad.

The 750 kit is pretty good, and a good beginners system. Get the RX rad though, lower fan RPM can be used.

The pump in the 750 is good enough for a CPU/GPU loop. Many use it. It's okay.
