New here, i'm from brazil so sorry for the writing mistakes.

i have a q8200 and i think i can still use it, so i overclocked it to 2,9ghz and it stucked.

i have a asus formula rampage extreme x48, 2x2g Gskill DDR3 1600mhz.
i only oc'ed with FSB, now it is in 415x7, when i try to up to 430 it doesnt work my windows stuck and crash and i have to restore it. i want to get 3.3ghz.

please help me. :sn:

At a FSB of 430MHz, what are the NB / MCH strap (FSB Strap to North Bridge) and DRAM frequency set to? The strap should be set to 400 w/ the DRAM freq. adjusted to DDR3-1432 (3.33 DRAM mult.) at that FSB.

thanks for the topic it helped a lot.. but i can't get 430FSB my RAM doesn't accept the frequency. i don't wanna loose ram frequency so i don't turn it low then 1600mhz. With 431FSB the windows starts, but crash and my bios restore to default

i set my vcore to 1,25v and it works well at 2,91Ghz i run prime95 for 4h and its stable

now i set the NB strap to 400Mhz and tried to up the FSB to 420Mhz... The Windows Starts but isn't stable... what should i do ? my vcore is 1,25v :sn:

What do you mean "Windows starts but isn't stable"? Besides posting the EXACT model of RAM you have, fill out this BIOS template w/ all of your settings at a FSB of 430MHz...

what i mean is that my system starts well but when i run prime95, everything stops and a blue screen shows.

My RAM model is "G.skill RipJaws DDR3-1600 Pc3-12800 CL 9-9-9-24"
the site saying about it is http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=222

i'm sorry i forgot to complete -> DRAM Frequency [DDR3-1661]

i don't remember exactly what is written in the BSOD is, is something like " windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer"

Well, you have DDR3-1600 RAM running overclocked using the 4.00 DRAM multiplier, so until you drop the multiplier to 3.33 like I suggested above I'm not sure how I can help you any further.
