AHCI mode for SSD

I have a new Dell Vostro 260. I have 2 HDD's, C (500 GB), and E (320 GB). I just installed a 128 GB SSD (F). When I tried to change to AHCI mode in my BIOS, I couldn't find an option to do that. How do I change to AHCI? Could it be automatic?

There should be an option in the bios to do so. I dont have a prebuilt dell so I have no idea where to find it. You are likely better off calling Dell and asking them since 'prebuilt' is a dirty word around here...

I'll check my old dell machine when I can today but I can't guarantee it'll have the same setup. :-/

With AS SSD open, and your SSD selected from the pull-down menu, view which driver is currently installed...

pciide.sys = Microsoft IDE driver
msahci = Microsoft AHCI driver
iastor.sys = Intel AHCI/RAID driver
