Hello. It seems the fan on my HD 5870 went out so I'm looking to replace it as soon as I can. So much for gaming during my winter break  I have the non reference model XFX card.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150476

That's the design. I was wondering if anyone knows any details about that fan? I'm looking to replace it with the same model or a compatible one. I'm avoiding getting into the aftermarket sinks for now. The cards getting up there in age and I don't want to invest money into it. Ill keep it in working order for now.

The only info found on the fan is; DC 12V 0.48A.

Help me out, i'm begging you, lol.

From what I can gather this is not the standard blower that seemed to be more common on ATI cards at the time. I keep finding this which is not what you need http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-ATI-Vid...516?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item3f1f0de744

However the sapphire vapor-x 5870 seams to have a similar looking fan to yours and could be useful lead if it has the same mounting mechanism and power connector. (however, using a different fan for your card could be dangerous, we would have to verify the data pins and power pins are not mixed up which would require a volt meter, a separate 12v power supply and a little testing and possibly luck) http://www.ebay.com/itm/85mm-VGA-Fa...US_Video_Card_GPU_Cooling&hash=item19d73ba7ae

Ebay is usually a good resource for stuff like this but I am not finding any matches for your particular video card. Instead of searching for a replacement fan for your model of video card, we may have better luck searching for the fan specs.

If you could use a ruler to measure the fan diameter (and height if possible) also the number of pins/ wires on the power connector (usually 2, 3 or 4). Also the distance between the mounting holes could be useful.

Also it may be possible to find cheap aftermarket coolers for older cards, I've never looked into this but it might be that an aftermarket cooler could be cheaper than the cost of a replacement fan. Just something to consider.

Thank you for your assistance. After doing further research I've decided that locating and buying a replacement is going to be a pain. I'll just have to go after market. I have a couple concerns with after market. First off is that the card is a non reference model, this is probably going to make choosing an after market cooler quite difficult. Another concern is all the reviews on aftermarket coolers. I've read quite a few reviews about an after market cooler killing peoples card. Now I guess some of those could be the installers error, but still. All that being said, can anyone recommend a efficient aftermarket cooler? Thank you.

Ziptie a 92mm fan to the outside of the card after you remove that fan.
That's what I'd do.

That or lube that fan and see if it comes back to life.

Well no go on the lube, didn't revive it. The fan went out in a crazy way. In the middle of playing Planetside 2 and the grinding death rattle started happening. Before I could exit the client and get into catalyst the rattle broke and went into a very high pitch squeal and then died. It was very startling, you never expect something like that. Anyway, I've decided to buy this:

Come what may I guess. Since I'm getting an aftermarket I might as well over clock the card. Can anyone suggest a comfortable over clock without adjusting voltages. I don't think the card has adjustable voltages, not this model anyway. Thank you.

OCing varies too much between cards, especially voltage locked non-reference cards.
That cooler should do you well though.
