Audio: dazed and confused

All,

I just received a new gaming PC as a Christmas present to myself! The speakers that came with it are horrible. I have a dedicated 11 x 14 room for gaming, gaming and more gaming. Can someone please recommend a good 5.1 surround sound system on a budget of $600? 98% of what I will be doing is gaming with a bit of video editing and movie watching.

if you shop right you can get a decent receiver and some monitors for less than 600$ i have about 400 into mine with a receiver 2 polk monitor 60 series towers for front and two r150 monitors for rears
